This area is completely under water even when the boat is just floating. It is subjected to constant high pressure water. When the seals are worn or have become hardened, the high water pressure forces water past the seal area and into the bearing area. This area is constantly being subjected to repeated high pressure peaks when the boat is coming in or out of the water, especially in choppy conditions. | |||||||||
